I am interested in the ecology of animals and how they interact with each other and their environment. I have a particular interest in how climate change impacts these interactions, along with a deep love for birds, especially raptors. My ideal research projects have not only scientific impacts, but also implications for conservation efforts. Teaching others through outreach, conferences, and prior research positions has always been my passion, which is why my largest career goal is to serve as an educator and mentor to college students.
For my Ph.D. research, I am investigating the impacts of wind farm development on the habitat use and life history of the Greater Sage Grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) in Southern Montana.
I received my masters degree in marine science in 2022. My research was focused on the impacts of climate change on the growth and distribution of Atlantic surfclams (Spisula solidissima) in the Molluscan Ecology Lab at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science.
I received my bachelor's of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2019, where I majored in biology and minored in chemistry and German.
I grew up in Wisconsin, teaching ski lessons in the winter and summer camp programs in the summer. I love hiking, skiing, skating, photography, and exploring the outdoors with my dog. The rest of my time is spent reading, cooking, and jamming to 70's hits.
